What happens when you get scouted?

Posted by roojames - February 19th, 2010

Do you get a notification or something? I wanna know because checking my art submissions twice a day to see if it's score-able is seeming rather desperate. Also, how are you supposed to get scouted unless you're popular? I mean, how's someone meant to discover your work if it doesn't show up in the portal? Just wondering.

: Do you get a notification or something?

Yes, or rather you get a notification that someone wants to scout you but you wont get scouted unless you accept that scout (you can deny as many scouts as you want and still get scouted though), it´s a thing invented to prevent too many users from losing their scout because of an earlier scouted person lost theirs, you can deny the scout if you find the scouter unreliable and likely to get unscouted (causes his/her scouts to get unscouted as well, as well as their scouts and so on).

: Also, how are you supposed to get scouted unless you're popular?

If enough people recommend your art (1 or more, idk) it goes into the recommended pile that scouted artists can check for skilled artists. There may also be an "all pile" that I´ve never heard of.

Also, here´s a FAQ about scouting created by the art mod Ornery that you may find interesting: http://ornery.newgrounds.com/news/pos t/388624

Thanks for the info. Even though I'm pretty sure No-one has the means to find my art without specifically looking. The only place I'm active on is the audio portal.
